Her name is Minimum Chips, or Chipsey for short. She is a 1996 Landrover Defender. We have had her for about 5 years and bought her from an Ex-Army Landrover mechanic. She was in great condition, and has only had a few malfunctions over the past few years. When we hit the road in Brisbane her odometer read 362,140 km.
In the last 12 months, we have fitted her out with significant storage which converts into a bed inside the car for us to sleep on. There is another smaller bed frame which rests on the dashboard for little Baz. We have fitted a bull bar and roof rack; as well as side steps. She has a 270 degree Darche awning and we have a tent which suspends underneath for when it is just too hot to sleep inside, or we need a bit of space. We have a 30L tank under the rear of the car for drinking water and another approx. 30L PVC pipe storage on the roof for showers. We also carry 2 x 20L jerry cans for extra fuel.
This everything we packed into the car, minus food and things that are bolted on…
